Great Livebinder on Google for Education resources

Anyone who knows me or reads this blog knows that I use Google's products for most of my educational and personal tasks and functions (along with Evernote). I have a permanent page on this blog devoted to Google for Education resources and I've just added another great resource to it.

LiveBinders Beta

I found a great Livebinder full of resources for using Google's products in Education. The site has resources from Google and from educators. There are tips on using the products in education, lesson ideas and activities, and much more. If you use Google's apps in education, or want to, I suggest this site as a great resource to use.

Document Cameras - more than just a fancy overhead - some resources for educators

MimioView

I have a document camera that I use for a variety of things in my class. I've used it to project what I'm writing on paper when I had knee surgery and couldn't stand at board, up close images of demonstrations and other items that I want the whole class to see. They are very useful. Some even have microscope attachments to show all kinds of things to your class on the big screen.

Many teachers have document cameras but don't know how to best use them or even how to spec one out if looking to purchase one.

I recently found a great Livebinder on Document Cameras from my PLN on Twitter. This Livebinder has resources and ideas for using a document camera in class, lesson ideas, links on different brands of document cameras and much more.

If you have a document camera, or are looking to purchase one, this site is a must-see.

Edcamp Livebinder - info, resources, links and descriptions

edcamp

Edcamp is a great series of free, unconferences for educators. The Edcamp model is unique in that attendees set the agenda the morning of the conference and the sessions are not led by one person, but are rather a collaboration of both the facilitator and attendees.

Carolyn Jo Starkey has created an excellent Livebinder about Edcamp.

In the Livebinder, she has binders on what Edcamp is, how to plan one, how to finance one, presentations about and from Edcamps, participant feedback and links to articles, blogs, and webpages about Edcamp and improving professional development for teachers. It's a great resource for anyone wondering about, attending, or planning an Edcamp (or other PD ).
